Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to invite you, on behalf of the Board of the Czech Society of Angiology, to the 42nd Czech Angiology Days, which will be held in Prague from February 23 – 25, 2017.

The February date and the location at the Diplomat Hotel have become a lasting tradition. However, that is not to say that we want the congress to be conservative in other regards. Our goal is for the congress to showcase as much news and as many new findings in the field of vascular medicine as possible. Developments in medicine are ever faster and the body of knowledge too large for any single individual to cover, which necessitates even greater specialization. On the other hand, the process of separating specializations is accompanied by an inverse development leading to integration and mutual understanding of different disciplines. Our congress can serve as an example, as it is widely interdisciplinary and brings vascular professionals of different backgrounds, from theoretical to clinical disciplines and primary care, to one table.

We believe that in the program covering the entire spectrum of arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases, and offering various hands-on workshops, you will find topics useful to your everyday practical applications. We look forward to receiving your oral presentations as well as e-posters, and also the many personal interactions, which are an equally important component of our meetings.

On behalf of the congress organizers

Dr. Karel Roztočil
President of the Congress
